Finally!

It's been nearly two years since the start of the pandemic. Since then, we've seen businesses slow down services or even shut down completely. We've seen some amazing, and not so amazing, sides of humanity come to light. So many things have changed and we as a collective society have had to learn to roll with the punches. Some of the punches hit harder than others. One of the hardest hitting was when hospitals and assisted living homes limited or cut off completely outside visitations.

A friend of mine has a grandpa in our state Veteran's Home and hasn't been able to see him for nearly the entire two years of the pandemic. She had been able to go for one or two visits in those two years and she was extremely grateful for those while being keenly aware of those who have lost loved ones without being able to be with them in their final days.

This friend called me a week before Thanksgiving very excited about their upcoming dinner plans. Grandpa, or Bopa, was given special arrangements to be able to COME HOME for Thanksgiving! The first Thanksgiving since the pandemic started.

She told me that this was probably going to be his last holiday season so she wanted to make sure he got all the holiday excitement. She made an Easter Ham, a Thanksgiving turkey, and a Christmas roast along with all the fixings. And what are the holidays without some pictures!? That's where I come in. I got to come over and capture this beautiful family with their Bopa all the way down 4 generations to a sweet little 3 month old baby. It was so much fun getting to see these families laughing and playing and enjoying each others company. I'm so glad I got to be there to capture these moments for them. Memories with Bopa will live on.
